Just clink your glasses lightly and let the wine flavours play pleasantly on your palate. Wonderful enchantment! But in order really to sense the wine, it is best to listen to the advice of experts, for example, from the Víno pro vás online wine shop. This year, they again present a new wine selection from first-class wineries.

Breathtaking Italy

The first of the ‘premieres’ are Barolo wines from the southern periphery of Barolo, a town in the Piedmont region. There is even an option to stay in Gomba Boschetti – the Sergio Gomba family winery. All the same, their red Barolo wines from ‘basic’ to ‘riserva’ and three varietal wines for ‘everyday’ drinking will enhance the pleasurable moments in your home.

Another novelty are typical wines of Southern Italy - Aglianco, Fiano and Greco from Societa Agricola Le Masciare Winery, located about 60 km east of Naples. The term “Le Masciare” was used to describe the witches who protected the crop from adverse weather. That is the reason why Caterina Martone named her farm “Le Masciare” in 2001. Her 2019 Fiano di Avelino wine is the first of an officially certified organic production. More will follow.

In the Cincinnato Cooperativa Agricola winery. the tradition is continued which was started by Lucia Quinctia Cincinnatuse, a Roman General and dictator in the 5th century BC. He resigned in a blaze of glory and went to run his farm in the location of the present-day city of Cori. The local wine cooperative consists of 105 winemaking families, who have already switched to organic grape production on one-fifth of their vineyards. Many wines from Cincinnata may be enjoyed, for example, red Raverosse, Cori DOC Rosso and white Cori DOC Bianco Illirio.

Surprising Austria

Weingut Humer in the Weinviertel wine region is another family winery. It is run by the third generation of the family whose philosophy is that the quality of wine is decided primarily by the grape. Weingut Humer wines –  2019 Veltlin Green Schöne Stunden and 2019 Ried Steinbruch – were awarded Gold Medals in this year’s Prague Wine Trophy contest.

The Eichenwald Weine cooperative winery, which unites about 100 small winemakers, can be found in the town of Horitschon in the Mittelburgenland DAC wine region. However, people rather call this region “Blaufränkischland”, because the winery here produces 95 % wine of the Frankovka and Zweigeltrebe varieties. Start with the quality 2018 Der Traubendieb, go to 2018 Der Gugafanga and reach for the top of the range 2016 Der Geisteblitz or Zweigelt: 2017 Das Federviech.
