New Michelin Star Starts to Shine above the Alps: La Fenice in Arlberg Lech wins Legendary Culinary Award.
16. 04.2026
In the heart of the Austrian Alps, where mountain elegance blends with top-class hospitality, another gastronomic triumph was achieved this year. The gourmet restaurant, La Fenice in the Hotel Arlberg Lech, has been awarded a prestigious star in the 2026 Michelin Guide. This recognition places La Fenice among the culinary giants of the region.
Teamwork as Basis for Success
Behind this success is not only exceptional talent, but, above all, the long-standing teamwork of a well-coordinated team. Chef Patrick Tober, whose career has been linked to the Hotel Arlberg for more than two decades, together with his team and Restaurant Manager, Sebastian Elles, have managed to create a venue where precision becomes art.
Patrick Tober's Journey to the Top
Chef Patrick Tober is a native of the Upper Austrian Mühlviertel region. He started at the hotel as Demi Chef de Partie and gradually worked his way up to the position of Chef and Culinary Director. Today, with his 25-member team, Patrick Tober sets the direction not only for the award-winning La Fenice restaurant, but also for the hotel's other gastronomic concepts. These include Half-Board, the traditional Die Stube fondue restaurant, the sun terrace, the bar and, now, the Arlberg Club House.
The day he learned about the Michelin star was a powerful emotional moment for him, as Patrick stated: "I am thrilled and proud not only of the award itself, but also of the journey we have taken together at Hotel Arlberg."
Taste of Success at La Fenice
And what will fresh success taste like at La Fenice this year? Guests can look forward to a seasonal tasting menu of five to eight courses, combining Mediterranean flavours with the “monte e mare” concept – a harmonious union of mountains and sea. There will also be a full-value vegetarian option, proving that creativity knows no bounds at the Arlberg Lech Hotel and especially at La Fenice restaurant.
