A gourmet paradise is situated in the beautiful foothills of the Šumava, just beyond Sušice. Guests at “U Štěpána” pub can expect the cosy homely ambience of a mountain farm and in particular the distinctive flavour of delicacies prepared from home-grown produce.
U Štěpána pub is no greenhorn on the gourmet map, having also appeared in the TV show “Ano, šéfe”. However, owner Štěpán Ruda has not rested on his laurels, but is constantly preparing something new and unusual for his guests.
He recently extended the garden with an attractive view of the surroundings. Whether you just stop by for lunch or enjoy one of the tasting evenings, you will be able to appreciate the first-class cuisine and friendly approach of the staff in even greater comfort.
From the garden, you can also see Štěpán’s ecological bio farm with its own herd. The young restaurateur is proud to be able to guarantee with the utmost confidence the 100 % quality of the meat served here. The refreshing closeness of Nature also gave rise to Štěpán’s vegetable-herb garden and orchard. Here you can relax on a sun lounger in the shade of the trees and sip the beverages prepared in the pub.
Such fertile ground gave the family the opportunity to produce the fresh ingredients for all sorts of culinary delicacies, as well as to manufacture their own top-quality organic products. So, after guests at Štěpán’s have savoured the tasty treats, they may also take home items such as homemade jams, pickled meats, and other delicacies according to the seasonal offer as a reminder.
Lake Neusiedl, nicknamed the “Sea of the Viennese”, lies on the border between Austria and Hungary. Its shallow waters, salt pools and reed beds form the heart of the Seewinkel nature reserve – a landscape that has rightly been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is here that the Vila Vita Pannonia resort was built. A place for perfect relaxation.
In the heart of the Austrian Alps, where mountain elegance blends with top-class hospitality, another gastronomic triumph was achieved this year. The gourmet restaurant, La Fenice in the Hotel Arlberg Lech, has been awarded a prestigious star in the 2026 Michelin Guide. This recognition places La Fenice among the culinary giants of the region.
