The first week of May became another milestone in the development of the winery. Apartment accommodation was opened in the heart of the picturesque town of Veselí nad Moravou, where Dog in Dock is based. Apartments appeal with their modern design, beautiful views of the castle park and the calm surface of Baťa Canal. The spacious air-conditioned rooms with kitchenettes are complemented by a private wellness area with two types of saunas, an outdoor whirlpool and a refreshing zone.
Refreshment from Wine Dispensers
Another reason for the winery to celebrate was the opening of the original Bistro. Its menu will change according to the current selection of fresh ingredients from selected nearby suppliers. Up to 28 different wines from Moravia and other areas in Europe will also be available, thanks to self-service wine dispensers. The bistro also invites guests to tasting dinners and themed evenings, stylish barbecues, musical evenings and book readings by authors.
Art Combines Well with Wine
As soon as one enters the winery premises, one is greeted by an original work of art – a dog sculpture from the workshop of the famous Czech sculptor, David Černý. The four-metre-high sculpture called Dog in Dock in Dog represents three dogs created in stainless steel. However, one sees only two dogs at a time from each point of view.
“Champagne” from Moravia
The winery also celebrated the opening of the primary stage of its new area with its first sparkling wine in the Extra Brut category. This 2021 vintage Riesling was left in the bottle for 24 months on fine lees.
Lake Neusiedl, nicknamed the “Sea of the Viennese”, lies on the border between Austria and Hungary. Its shallow waters, salt pools and reed beds form the heart of the Seewinkel nature reserve – a landscape that has rightly been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is here that the Vila Vita Pannonia resort was built. A place for perfect relaxation.
