The Milanese Hotel Principe di Savoia, which is part of the Dorchester Collection, boasts the world-famous Presidential Suite with its classic prestige and unrivalled class. The superlative suite includes among its past guests the most famous of international names, from Royals to stars of the movie and music industries: Queen Elizabeth II of England, George Clooney, Lenny Kravitz, Woody Allen, Madonna and Lady Gaga, to name but a few. Travel Fever magazine also ranks among the Hotel's guests.
Following his direction of the Suite’s initial redesign in 1992, architect Michael Stelea has successfully created a synergy between the extremely elegant and refined, classically designed rooms and the latest technology of the modern generation. The living room and each of the three bedrooms have individual personal touches that add a little extra interest and sense of unique style.
The Presidential Suite, located on the 10th floor of the Hotel, is about 410 square metres in size, offering guests an unparalleled standard of outstanding luxury and supreme comfort. Extreme excellence characterises each room, with immense attention having been paid to detail. In the first bedroom, the sumptuous emerald green velvet walls are entirely decorated with brass studs, complemented by elegant Damascus-style curtains. In the second bedroom, the striking headboard is the highlight of the room, while the walls are embellished with the finest hand-crafted wall paintings of the most exquisite views of the famous Paris Bagatelle Gardens.
The gem of the prestigious newly refurbished suite is the Master Bedroom. Immense thought has gone into the design, evident from the details of the room: from the Damascus straw-coloured walls produced by Rubelli House to the bespoke carpet, especially created for the Principe di Savoia in Thailand and inspired by an Aubusson design. To ensure that each guest enjoys the maximum comfort and relaxation, the vast bathroom has its own Jacuzzi, for those moments of much needed rest and recuperation. The Master Bedroom features a high-definition plasma “all-in-one” which can easily be transformed from an elegant framed mirror into a television with numerous innovative functions such as imp television, PC, Media Centre, home theatre, iPod and several others.
The living room has also been completely restyled with the addition of opulent handcrafted sofas and a framed mirror that converts into a new HD plasma screen. However, the room retains its distinctive sense of tradition and style in the fine panelled ceiling and mahogany boiserie. This room is brightened by large windows providing views of the picturesque terrace and the Milanese skyline. In addition, an interior window overlooking the Pompeian-style private swimming pool, with wall murals, polychrome marble tiles and large pool with dolphin mosaics, gives guests a taste of the atmosphere of the Ancient Roman thermal baths. A water massage, sauna and Turkish bath are the finishing striking elements of this pearl of Italian hotellery.
