Posthotel Achenkirch: where Time Flows Differently
24. 08.2025
In North Tyrol, within reach of Achensee and under the Karwendel peaks, is Posthotel Achenkirch – an adults-only resort that systematically features the concept of a balance between performance and regeneration. This is not a classic wellness hotel, but an ingeniously conceived resort that combines the peace of Nature, physical activity and the promotion of good health with elements of Eastern philosophy.
Alpine Greens within Reach
Summer and early autumn are not only for tourists, but also for golfers. The resort has its own 9-hole course and an indoor driving range. Achensee Golf Club, one of the top- quality 18-hole courses in Austria, is also within reach. The surrounding landscape is inviting for MTB (mountain biking), via ferratas and high-altitude walking, while Lake Achensee is suitable for swimming, sailing, paddleboarding and diving.
Inner Balance and Traditional Medicine
The resort includes an extensive wellness complex covering an area of 7 000 m² where, in addition to classic treatments, one also finds elements of traditional Chinese Medicine. Here, this is implemented in the form of therapies, as well as through the Tenzo catering concept and lessons led by a Shaolin master.
Functional Gastronomy and Architecture
The architectural design of the hotel combines industrial minimalism with traditional Tyrolean elements. The kitchen is managed by Maurice Mehling, who uses his own production of ingredients and seasonal local sources. The result is a cuisine built on a clear idea – simplicity, purity of flavours and respect for origin.

Some are here to play golf, others to kitesurf or to lounge under a sugarcane umbrella, gazing out to sea on one of the endless beaches of fine white and golden sand.
