Semler Residence

This is one of the prominent monuments of modern architecture in Central Europe.

The historical interior of the residence of Oskar and Jana Semler's family was built into the original apartment building in 1933–1934. It was created based on a concept by Adolf Loos from 1932, and developed and completed by Loos's student and collaborator, Heinrich Kulka. The apartment is equipped with luxurious natural materials: cladding in precious woods and marble. A characteristic architectural element is the spatial solution of the interior, known as Raumplan, whereby the very large apartment does not have classic floors. Its individual spaces at different heights are concentrated on six levels around the central living hall. The residence also has a social hall with technical equipment, suitable for conferences or meetings. The basement houses the stylish Café Semler.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.semler.cz or at the Semler Residence Information Centre. Tours in Czech, English, German and French for groups (max. 10 people) can be booked by calling +420 770 131 810 or by e-mailing info@semler.cz.
