Just a few minutes outside Prague, there is a place where time passes more slowly. The air is filled with the scent of freshly cut grass, blooming herbs and meals prepared from authentic ingredients. Grandma's Garden (Babiččina zahrada) presents a seasonal menu based on fresh ingredients, the lightness of summer days and a respect for traditional recipes.
The restaurant, known for its unique atmosphere and one of the most magical outdoor seating areas in the Czech Republic, once again confirms that gastronomy is not merely about food, but about the overall experience. The extensive space filled with greenery, fragrant herbs and quiet corners creates the ideal backdrop for leisurely lunches, family gatherings, as well as romantic dinners.
In the starters' selection, Grandma's Salad of colourful tomatoes combines the freshness of summer vegetables with distinctive bryndza cheese and a sauce of roasted cherry tomatoes. A light and seasonal blend that perfectly reflects the character of summer.
Also worth mentioning are the slices of Veal Loin, served with a delicate tuna sauce, pickled onions, capers, parmesan shavings and toast. An elegant creation, combining the delicacy of the meat with characteristic Mediterranean tones and providing a more modern accent to the menu.
Lovers of more distinctive recipes will be delighted by the Beefsteak, served with romaine lettuce leaves, fresh chimichurri, potato terrine and green pepper sauce. A dish for those who appreciate full flavour, first-class ingredients and precise processing.
Grandma's Zucchini Potato Pancakes with mushroom ragout and chanterelles are also not absent. A vegetarian option that naturally links the gifts of the garden with the flavours of the forest and the peak summer season.
The menu is complemented by popular staples, such as Tartare prepared right at the table, lightly smoked Siven, confit Leg of Duck and traditional Sirloin Steak. The sweet ending is provided by Ducat Buns, Fruit Curd Dumplings or Chocolate Cake with Raspberries.
Grandma's Garden also confirms this year that an exceptional gastronomic experience is not only created by the food itself, but also by the surrounding environment. The new menu is an invitation to summer get-togethers, genuine flavours and moments spent in one of the most beautiful gardens just a few minutes from Prague.
The gala evening and launch party for Travel Fever magazine took place at the Esplanade Spa & Golf Resort in Mariánské Lázně. Zdeněk Vrba hosted the launch party, and the evening’s program included, among other things, a BOGNER fashion show. Travel Fever magazine is published in four languages, and the fourth language is a new addition: ITALIAN! So now it’s available in Czech, English, German, and Italian.
